Info on the Lessons

Piano is my love and passion. I've known since I was five years old that I would teach this beautiful instrument when I got older. I went to school at Shorter University for Piano Pedagogy (to teach piano) and have been teaching for 10 years now. I began teaching as a junior in high school and knew it was my dream job. I'm on the younger side, 25, but feel that kids and adults respond better to someone younger. I try to not only make music with my students but encourage and challenge them in life as well. It's important to build a friendship with the students... that's why I continued in piano through out the years and knew that it was a love I had to share with others!

I am part of the GMEA (Georgia Music Teachers Association), MTNA (Music Teachers National Association), and locally involved with the piano teachers in Kennesaw/Acworth.

Piano lessons are thirty minutes long and consist of warm up, lesson book, theory book, teachnique and artistry, fun songs, learning about a composer or playing a theory game, and working on becoming the best pianist we can be! I try to understand each student's capabilities and challenge them without becoming overly demanding. Practice is key to success in any age of student. I love teaching and try to rub off that passion on to each student!!! My students range from ages 5-70!! Any age can begin lessons. It is never too late! :)

I try to purchase each book for you, if you can add that to the payment for lessons at the beginning of the next month! It's easier for me to grab things we need!! It won't be a weekly occurrence though, I promise. Each lesson is 25 dollars for the thirty minutes, so it ends up being roughly 100 a month. We have two recitals a year- Christmas (where we go to a retirement home and play) and spring recital! The spring is definitely a lot of fun but more formal than the Christmas recital! I am working to provide competitions and other fun activities to my studio this year as well. More details on this will be given as the time comes.
